LEAGUE CITY, Texas (KTRK) -- A Clear Creek ISD teacher who was placed on leave over "troubling allegations" involving what was described as a physical encounter with a student has since resigned, according to the district.

According to a CCISD statement issued on Friday, a teacher at Ed White Elementary was placed on administrative leave after "troubling allegations" involving "the way the teacher interacted physically with a student."

"The allegations do not reflect our expectations of educator conduct therefore a full investigation into the matter is underway," the statement read.

Hours after the statement was issued, a spokesperson with the district told ABC13 the teacher had resigned.

"Ed White Elementary campus administration and district personnel are working with the child's family," read the statement.

The district said the report was made on Thursday and no further details surrounding the interaction between the student and teacher were immediately released.

ABC13 has a pending request with the district's office of communications to retrieve a copy of the school's surveillance video, which allegedly captured the incident.

Eyewitness News spoke with Jocelynn Lasua on Friday, who is the mother of 5-year-old elementary student Maesyn Hildreth. Lasua said Thursday afternoon she received a call from the principal of Ed White Elementary, who said her daughter was involved in an incident with her teacher.

"He was just notifying me that Maesyn was assaulted by her teacher," Lasua said. "She was in the hallway sitting down and the teacher grabbed Maesyn by both legs and dragged her down the hallway. Her head was bouncing. I watched video of it today. Her head was bouncing on the tile and the teacher dropped her and left my baby just laying there and threw her hands up at Maesyn and walked off back into the classroom like nothing ever happened."

Lasua said it's unclear why her daughter was told to sit in the hallway by herself while the other students were in the classroom.

"The video made me feel like I am really scared for her to go back to school," Lasua said. "Maesyn doesn't want to go back to the school, so I don't know what to do as the parent. I just need other parents to be more aware of what's going on in your school and protect your babies."

During an interview with the family, the child had a visible bruise on her forehead and her mother said she took Maesyn to the doctor after the incident.

"She suffered trauma," Lasua said. "She's going to work with a specialist and we're going to definitely get her through this."
