Homeowner's Christmas display causes neighbors to call 911

BOULDER, Colorado (KTRK) -- A man who really likes the "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" movie with Chevy Chase triggered a neighborhood scare with his elaborate holiday display.

Neighbors thought they saw homeowner Chris Olson hanging from the roof of his house and called police.

First responders later realized it was a dummy dangling from the roof like the Clark Griswold character played by Chase in the movie.

"My wife really didn't want me to do it this year but I said, 'No, it's an Olson tradition.' My dad was a big practical joker, so I kinda got a little bit of that rolled into me," Olson said.

Olson adds he has no plans to take down the dummy until maybe next Halloween.
