HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Eyewitnesses tell ABC13 that at least one person has been arrested after a chase ended in a fiery crash at a gas station in north Houston.

The Houston Police Department has identified the driver as 23-year-old, Nestor Najera.

Witnesses say that they heard small explosions after Najera, the driver of the SUV, slammed into the gas station at Collingsworth and Elysian.

HPD say the chase started on Hardy Street when officers were trying to pull Najera over for going the wrong way down the street.

Najera led them on a ten minute chase and didn't stop until he hit the pump.

Neighbors say they heard it.

"The big boom is what got everybody's attention," said Damaris Montesino.

Many eyewitnesses captured the tense moments of aftermath on their cell phones.

The owner of the gas station shared surveillance video of the crash. He said he and other customers were inside the store when it happened.

The video also shows the chase suspect running out of the SUV when it caught fire and into the store.
