Investigators said the suspect took out a pistol and shot another man two or three times during some kind of verbal fight -- killing him. The victim was identified as 24-year-old Gabriel Aguirre, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Pedro Zavala, ran off after the shooting, HCSO said. Later Tuesday morning, Zavala contacted the sheriff's office and surrendered to deputies, Gonzalez said.
He was booked into the Harris County Jail and charged with Aguirre's murder.

Investigators were interviewing other people who were inside the bar at the time and reviewing surveillance video, trying to get a better idea of what led up to the shooting. Deputies said both the victim and suspect knew one or two other people who were there.
According to court records, Zavala was out on bond at the time of the shooting. Last month, he was charged with harassment and resisting arrest. He's accused of threatening to shoot a woman's dog in that case.
He was supposed to be due back in court on those charges next month, but will now find himself back in court sooner.
A sign on the door says Bombshells is closed for the rest of the day Tuesday but will reopen on Wednesday.
NOTE: Gonzalez said Zavala is 24 years old, but according to his birthdate in booking records, Zavala is currently 23.
