The body was discovered just before 8 a.m. on 3 Hogan St. between the Heights hike and bike trail by a homeless man.

The man was found face down in the water near a sleeping bag.
Officers said the body may have been in the bayou for as long as 24 hours.
The man's identity has not been determined, but a person who lives nearby told ABC13 that it is not uncommon for homeless people to camp along the bayou. He said that sometimes they get too close to the water during times of heavy rain.
"They don't realize that this water rises up like that. Any smart person would look up in the trees and see the bags up in the trees. We get flash floods like that here," James Stockwell said.
The body has since been removed.
