Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez tweeted that deputies responded to a home in the 1700 block of Penmark Lane.
Gonzalez said the infant was found with "severe trauma" and was taken to the hospital via Life Flight in critical condition.
In a later update, a detective on scene told ABC13 that the child was dead.
Officials said they don't have any suspects and have yet to interview the mother.
It's unclear how the child sustained her injuries.
