Man found shot to death outside north Houston apartment complex

The man's body was spotted by an apartment complex resident in the 500 block of Wells Fargo Drive, authorities said. He may have been shot hours before he was found.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A man found shot to death Saturday morning outside a north Houston apartment complex may have been struck hours before his body was discovered, authorities said.

It happened in the 500 block of Wells Fargo Drive sometime overnight.

The man's body was found with a gunshot wound near the front gate of the complex, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

A woman living in the complex spotted the man's body around 7:45 a.m. Saturday and called 911. Witnesses told deputies they heard what they believed to be a gunshot around midnight, but they weren't sure if it was related to the man's death.

The victim, a man between 25 and 30 years old, did not have any identification, investigators said. They were still working to find out who he was. He was wearing a green hoodie and gray Nike shorts.

Detectives were reviewing surveillance video in the area to find out what happened.
