HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Alley Theatre is opening its doors for the first time since Hurricane Harvey, and just in time for a Houston holiday tradition.

Doors open Friday for their staging of the Charles Dickens classic "A Christmas Carol."

The theater's managing director says the production will be on a stage that wasn't damaged by the flood.

The storm did damage the downstairs Neuhaus Theatre, dressing rooms and thousands of props. Those areas are still being repaired.

Alley Theatre said it wanted to make sure it was reopened for the holidays.
