HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- The Harris County Sheriff's Office is in the early stage of an investigation Friday evening, involving two deaths inside a home not too far from the northwest bend of the Sam Houston Tollway.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, about the deaths in the 9600 block of Red Maple Drive, which is in the Maple Leaf Garden neighborhood.

At the scene, the sheriff said that a woman associated with the home told investigators two masked men who were driving a pickup truck busted into the residence Thursday afternoon.

Investigators told Gonzalez that she said she ran from the home with someone else when they heard gunshots.

The sheriff said this additional person has corroborated her story. Investigators are currently interviewing these two individuals, who have not been named.

Gonzalez later said the two men who were found dead appeared to have been targeted. He believes they were killed Thursday.
