Several ambulance and other vehicles caught on fire in a southwest Houston parking lot

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An overnight fire destroyed several vehicles, including ambulances, in southwest Houston early this morning.

It happened in a parking lot off the 6770 block of the Southwest Freeway and Savoy Drive around 2:30am.

An HPD officer on patrol in the area saw a single ambulance on fire and contacted the fire department. When fire crews arrived, they discovered not one but several ambulances, along with an ambulance bus, a pick up truck and several hotel buses, were all on fire.

In all, eight vehicles were either damaged or destroyed.

Arson investigators still do not know the cause of the fire. No one was injured.
