HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Cypress Creek EMS was involved in an accident while transporting a patient.

It happened around 11:00pm Sunday night on Champion Forest at Spring Cypress in northwest Harris County.

EMS crews on board the ambulance say the vehicle's lights and sirens were turned on before the crash occurred. However, drivers of both vehicles hit by the ambulance told investigators the emergency vehicle's lights and sirens were not on at the time of the crash.

The impact of the collision sent the ambulance into a ditch where it then caught on fire. The patient on board was transported to the hospital by another ambulance. The driver and at least one other medic on board the ambulance were treated on scene for minor injuries.

Deputy constables are not saying who will be cited for the crash.
