Amber Alert canceled for missing Mesquite girl
An Amber Alert has been canceled for a missing Mesquite girl.

MESQUITE, Texas (KTRK) -- The Amber Alert has been discontinued for a missing 2-year-old girl in Mesquite, east of Dallas.

Police had been looking for the child, Amia Blanton, and her grandmother, 47-year-old Levita Gant in connection with her abduction.

The initial alert was sent out just before 3:30 a.m. Friday.

It was discontinued nearly eight hours later.

Police have not said what ended the alert.
