Jury sentences man convicted of fatally shooting mother at Webster flower shop

WEBSTER, TX -- A man convicted of killing his mother at a Webster flower shop in 2013 has learned his fate.

Jurors sentenced Mark Dickey to 35 years in prison. The same jury had convicted him Tuesday afternoon of murder.

Prosecutors say Dickey fatally shot his mother in the back of the head while she was opening a safe. After the shooting, he tried to make it look like she'd been killed during a robbery.
