One dead, one injured after fight in Montgomery County neighborhood

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- One man ended up dead and another hospitalized after an altercation in a Montgomery County neighborhood.

It happened around 8:30pm last night off Lakeshore Drive near FM 1488 in the Woodland Lakes Subdivision.

Deputies say two pedestrians, a father and son, were walking down the road. They then yelled at a man driving a vehicle down the road.

The vehicle stopped and the driver got into a verbal confrontation with the two pedestrians. The argument then turned physical.

At some point, the driver then armed himself with a tire iron and struck both pedestrians. Both men were taken to the hospital where one of them, identified as Aaron McMahon, 31, died.

The entrance to the subdivision was closed for nearly seven hours while deputies investigated. At the end of their investigation, deputies and arrested the driver, Anthony Dwayne Rideau, on murder charges.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
