Man in his 20s killed in mysterious hit-and-run in northwest Harris County

A man in his early 20s was killed last night while changing a tire in northwest Harris County. We're told the driver of the vehicle responsible did not stop.

Authorities say Marcus Stewman was hit around 4:00am on the shoulder of Highway 290 west near Kickapoo. Deputies found his body on the road.

A friend tells Eyewitness News Stewman called him before he was hit, and when that friend did not hear back from him, the friend went to the scene to find emergency vehicles.

Stewman was hit changing the tire on the front driver's side.

Deputies say they have not found any evidence, such as tire tracks or anything on the Stewman's body, to point to a suspect.
