Woman wants to thank man who returned wallet
It happened at the Walmart in Oxford Sunday

OXFORD, NC -- With a 7-week-old baby and a 2-year-old, Courtney Pruitt has a lot on her mind and her hands full.

"I have this bad habit of putting my wallet, keys, phone on top of the truck when I'm putting the girls back in their seats," she said.

And that's what she did after a quick trip to Walmart Sunday, and that's where the trouble started.

"I went to look for my wallet and couldn't find it anywhere and I was like 'Oh no! oh no!'" she said. "I started looking in the diaper bag. I looked in the truck ... and about that time I realize, 'Oh! I left it on the truck!'"

Pruitt makes extra money reselling items from yard sales online. On Sunday, she had her yard sale cash in her wallet, debit cards, ID and her children's Medicaid cards.

"It takes forever to get a card in the first place," she said.

She went back to Walmart and searched the parking lot but didn't find the purse.

"I was going crazy. As soon as the Walmart employee told me 'No, no one had turned it in', I was like 'Oh no. No, no, no, no, no!'" said Pruitt.

Defeated, she went home. Nearly four hours later, a tattooed angel walked into her yard.

"This guy comes around the house and says 'I don't mean to bother you guys, but did anybody lose a wallet?'" said Pruitt.

And there it was.

"He found it in the Walmart parking lot and opened it and saw my address on one of the cards, so he came out to the house and returned it for me," said Pruitt.

Everything was in it, including all the cash.

"I was in such shock I didn't think to ask for his name or anything," said Pruitt. "I said 'Thank you'. He said 'No problem. Y'all have a good night' and he just walked away."

Pruitt said the mystery man seemed just a little older than her. He had tattoos, was clean shaven, and she thinks his ears were pierced.

It happened at the Walmart in Oxford Sunday and she hopes she can find him to thank him properly - maybe with some brownies.
