HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Cypress Ranch High School was placed in "secure the building" mode as a precautionary measure after the authorities received a call about someone "threatening the safety of students."

According to an update issued by Cy-Fair ISD, the district's police department dispatch received a call Monday afternoon stating there was a threat in the area of Cypress Ranch High School.

"A thorough search was conducted of both the outside grounds and the inside of the building," said Cy-Fair ISD in the update. "Upon determining that our building was safe and secure, we began a structured dismissal to help our students get out of the building in a safe, orderly fashion."

As a precaution, Warner Elementary and Smith Middle School were also put on secure the building. The investigation is still on going, according to campus police.
