Burn ban in effect for unincorporated Galveston County

GALVESTON COUNTY -- The unincorporated parts of Galveston County are now under a burn ban.

The county joins Wharton, Waller, Matagorda and dozens of other Texas counties, according to the Texas Forest Service.

Burn bans are typically issued when drought conditions exist.
