75-year-old died trying to cross road, Friendswood police say

FRIENDSWOOD, TX (KTRK) -- A 75-year-old man died after he was struck by a car in an attempt to cross a five-lane road in Friendswood last night, according to police.

Police say the man was hit by an 18-year-old driving a red Ford Festiva westbound in the 2400 block of W. Parkwood. It happened on FM 528 just west of Sunmeadow around 9:30pm. Police say the man was dark clothing.

The driver was from Alvin, and stopped at the scene, according to authorities. He was not hurt.

No charges are filed in this case.
