Fatal accident shuts down Highway 59 near FM 1485

NEW CANEY, TX -- All southbound lanes of Highway 59 in New Caney are shut down due to a fatal accident.
The accident happened before 2pm just north of FM 1485.
An SUV driver slammed into a big rig. The vehicle was completely under the rig. At least one person was confirmed dead, according to DPS.
No other details were immediately available.
An investigation is underway.
