HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Beat the heat with an ice cold treat from our viewers' favorite spots around town.

It's a good idea to bring cash with you, as most of these locations are small, family-owned businesses and do not accept cards.

Tampico Refresqueria

Tampico in the Heights was the overwhelming favorite for snow cones. In addition to the raspas (snow cones), viewers say don't leave without trying the licuados (milk shakes) and elotes (corn in a cup). Make sure to bring cash, but you won't need much - the prices are cheap!

Flamingo's Chill

When you go to Flamingo's Chill, there might be a long line, but viewers say the snow cones are worth the wait. There's also a drive thru so you can really beat the heat. Some nights, they put up a movie screen for the kids to watch show!

Bahama Bucks

There are several locations in the Houston-area, including Humble, Katy, Missouri City, Sugar Land, Tomball, and Texas City. Make sure to sign up for the Surf Club and you'll receive exclusive discounts, event news, and new flavor alerts.

Joe's Sno Cone Stand

When you spot the rainbow-colored food truck parked in South Houston, you know you've arrived at Joe's. Snow cones start at just $1.25

Liberty Snoball

If you're up for a drive, take a trip to Liberty Snowball. When you see the little red stand, you'll know you've made it. There's a list of flavors is a mile long - from apple cider to wine cooler and everything in between.

Raspa Monsters

You can customize anything they serve, the choices on snow cone flavors are endless, along with your choices of sweet snacks. It's a great place to go with friends on a hot summer day.

Tropical Chill

Tropical Chill has been at the same spot in Deer Park since 1993. They have a great website with all of their flavors and a key that gives a description of what each will taste like and what color to expect it to be. The best part? Snoballs start at just $1.50!

Friohanna

You might have seen the blue Friohanna truck or trailer parked around town. Next time you do, stop! Viewers say Friohanna serves snow cones that actually feel like eating flavored snow. So soft and tasty. These guys are great about updating their location and their flavors of the day on their website and social media pages.

Pearland folks - there's a place for you too! Try AJ's for your snow cone fix! After scrolling through their Facebook photos, we'll take several mangonadas delivered to the TV station, please! The Oreo delight looks good for anyone with a sweet tooth!
