A motorcycle rider was killed when he took a curve too fast after getting away from state troopers who tried to pull him over.

NAVASOTA, TX (KTRK) -- A motorcycle rider is dead after he refused to pull over for a traffic stop, police say.

Troopers spotted the rider speeding and weaving through traffic on SH 105 just east of Navasota. When they tried to pull him over, he took off reaching speeds of at least 130 mph.

The chase lasted for about 20 minutes before the biker took a curve too fast on Old Highway 105 at FM 1486 and crashed his 2006 blue Yamaha motorcycle. He was killed instantly.

Investigators say the 23-year-old male from Houston had some drugs on him. A name will be released at a later time.
