Smash-and-grab thieves target gas station ATM in north Harris County

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Harris County authorities are hunting three suspects wanted in a smash-and-grab robbery at a Shell gas station this morning.

Law enforcement authorities say the suspects' pickup truck smashed into the front of the the store off Beltway 8 and Wilson Road.

The front of the store sustained extensive damage.

Police say the thieves -- two men and a women all wearing masks -- were able to make off with a cash register, but not the ATM.

Thankfully, the store's clerk -- who was inside making coffee just minutes before the incident happened -- was not hurt.
