Alcohol blamed for deadly wrong-way crash in Montgomery County

CONROE, TX (KTRK) -- One person was killed and seven others are in the hospital following a wrong way crash last night in Montgomery County.

Deputies say the driver of a Chevy Trailblazer took a corner too fast on FM 3083 and went onto the shoulder.

When the driver tried to get back on the road, the vehicle swerved into oncoming traffic and was sideswiped by a car causing the SUV to flip over.

Of the eight people in both vehicles, one person was killed. Four people are now in critical condition and three others are in stable condition.

Investigators say alcohol was a factor in the crash.
