Passenger killed when truck hits tree, heavy rain to blame

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The passenger of a pickup truck died when the driver lost control in heavy rain and slammed into a tree.

It happened last night as the GMC pickup truck was heading westbound on Crosstimbers at North Main Street.

Police say the heavy rain at the time cause the driver to lose control, sending the truck skidding sideways before hitting a tree. The passenger died on scene. The driver was taken to the hospital in unknwon condition.

No other vehicles were involved.
