Wrong-way crash kills 1, injures several others
A family is mourning after police say a suspected drunk driver slams into another vehicle head-on, killing 1

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A driver in a wrong-way crash in north Harris County that killed one man and sent nine other people, including several children, to the hospital Saturday night is now charged.

Jose Martir Salazar-Ramirez was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office says Salazar-Ramirez showed signs of impairment and caused the crash in the 1500 block of Gears near Crown Park around 10pm.

The sheriff's office says Jose Martir Salazar-Ramirez was driving a Mitsubishi the wrong way when it slammed head-on into a pickup truck.

Both cars were damaged beyond recognition.

Three people were inside the Mitsubishi. One of the passengers died instantly. Salazar-Ramirez and other passenger were taken to the hospital.

Six people, including several children, were inside the truck.

They were all taken to the hospital, however the sheriff's office says everyone in the truck is expected to survive their injuries.
