Person shot and killed in upscale Canyon Gate neighborhood

TOMBALL, TX (KTRK) -- A homicide investigation took place early this morning in the upscale neighborhood of Canyon Gate in northwest Harris County. The gated community is just west of Tomball Parkway and north of Northpointe Blvd.

Homicide detectives had been called out to 11900 block of Canyon Star Lane. According to the sheriff's office, one person had been shot.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting and whether anybody is in custody still unknown. Sheriff deputies have yet to comment on the case.

Eyewitness News has a crew on scene, gathering more information. They witnessed a Harris County medical examiner's van leave the neighborhood.
