Pedestrian walking in middle of the road struck, killed by SUV

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man walking in the middle of the road was struck and killed by a driver late last night in northwest Harris County.

It happened around 8pm in the 2700 block of Spears at Walters.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office says a 37-year-old driver of a Nissan Murano hit the pedestrian, killing him. The impact then forced the driver of the Nissan into oncoming traffic, where his vehicle struck a Dodge Charger driven by a 20-year-old man.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
