Car fire leads to shutdown of Hwy 59 at I-45 South

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The Houston Fire Department responded Sunday to a reported crash at Highway 59 and I-45 South.

When first responders arrived, they saw a car engulfed in flames with someone trapped inside.

All of the vehicle's passengers were pulled from the car in unknown condition.

For hours, the highway was condensed down to just one lane.
