Teen arrested after woman shot
Police say an altercation spilled over into a shooting, and an innocent woman was wounded

PASADENA, TX (KTRK) -- An 18-year-old faces an aggravated assault charge in Pasadena.

Devon Lusk is accused of firing the shot that seriously injured an innocent bystander. According to police, after Pasadena High School let out, the fight that started during the school day picked back up in front of a home on Broadway.

Lusk and several others went to a car where he allegedly got a gun, and proceeded to fire two shots out of the car window at the house where the fight had just happened.

"After I heard the shots, I saw the kids jump in the car and drive off and the cops were here within a minute or so," says Ramona Aguilar.

One bullet went through the windshield of a car driving by. It struck a woman in her mid-40s in the cheek. She was flown by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital where she remains in serious condition.

This all happened within eyesight of Kruze Elementary School while parents, including Ramona Aguilar, waited to pick up their children.

"Just teenagers being teenagers. You could see they were younger kids," Aguilar says.

Lusk is being held on $30,000 bond.

A Pasadena ISD spokesperson tells us Lusk is not a student in the district.

Because the shooting happened so close to a school, the district put out a robocall to let parents know what happened, they sent letters home with students on Friday, and put extra police in the area just to be safe. Parents we spoke with say they're pleased with the response.
