Firefighters battled 3-alarm fire
Firefighters saw flames and smoke at Alex Scrap Metal and Recycling on the Eastex Freeway

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Firefighters battled a three-alarm fire in northeast Houston this morning.

The flames were first spotted around 8:40am this morning at an automotive shop called Alex Scrap Metal and Recycling off the Eastex Freeway near Aldine Bender. Fire crews on scene blocked three lanes of the southbound feeder road at Lee to fight the fire.

There are no reported injuries and no word as to what may have started the fire.
