Innocent bystander caught in middle of a police chase

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Police say an innocent bystander was caught in a police chase Saturday morning.

Officers attempted to make a traffic stop at Washington and Hempstead, but the suspect refused to stop.

The officer chased after the suspect, but crashed into the innocent bystanders vehicle on 610 North Loop and Shepherd.

The victim is okay and was transported to the hospital as precaution.

Officers told Eyewitness News that the suspect kept driving after the crash and was able to get away.
