TIMELINE: Brutal murder in Baytown on Mother's Day

BAYTOWN, Texas (KTRK) -- On Mother's Day in 2016, the body of Nataliya Shal was found inside her apartment in Baytown.

Investigators say she was sexually assaulted and brutally murdered.

It took detectives a year and a half to make an arrest. This month, Baytown police arrested 29-year-old Byron Collins after a re-test of DNA evidence from the scene.
