Crosby Church gives out gift cards and more for Christmas
Thousands of people showed up to Walmart for some Christmas cheer on behalf of Crosby Church.

CROSBY, Texas (KTRK) -- A local church credited with helping neighbors after Hurricane Harvey is back to help make the season bright for some families in need.

Crosby Church said it expected about 3,000 people to arrive at a Walmart store tonight for some holiday cheer for their Clothe-a-Child project.

The church said volunteers were handing out $100 gift cards to each person for new clothes. Church members also planned to distribute bikes and toys for about 500 children.

Volunteers were on hand to help the families, who arrived with bright smiles and grateful hearts, pick out the clothes they would need for the season.

This is the second night the church worked to help Crosby families have a brighter Christmas.

Last night, about 600 people accepted assistance for new clothes and Christmas gifts.
