Police: 2 teens attacked by masked man in Angleton
Two teens were attacked by masked men in Angleton in less than 24-hours.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Angleton Police continue searching for the man investigators say held a young woman at gunpoint and raped her.

Twenty hours after that incident on South Anderson Street, a second teen girl in the area says a man grabbed her, but she got away and was not sexually assaulted.

At this point, investigators aren't saying the two incidents are connected but they're not ruling out the possibility.

"Given the set of facts that we have leading up to the second incident, it's unlikely (they are connected) at this point," said Captain Cameron Parsons with Angleton Police.

Thursday, a man called police saying his 19-year-old daughter had been sexually assaulted just after midnight.

Police say the teen was stopped at train tracks on South Anderson Street waiting for a train to cross when a masked man with a gun got in her car. Investigators say he pointed the gun at the girl, who was less than five minutes from home and told her to drive. She drove a short distance and pulled over.

Police say the man forced her out of the car, took off his mask and raped her. The area surrounding the railroad tracks where the attack happened is dark and tucked away.

There is a fire station just feet away, so they were able to quickly assist and provide police a thermal imaging device to search for evidence.

In this case, police are looking for a black man, approximately 5'7" with a muscular build. If you have any information contact the Angleton Police Department at 979- 849- 2383.

Angleton Police are putting everyone in the community on alert as they search for a sexual assault suspect.

Later Thursday night, around 7 p.m., an 18-year-old woman was walking to her best friend's apartment on Hospital Drive, when her mother says a man grabbed her.

"I'm really upset," the mother told ABC 13. She did not want to identify herself. "What if he would come back? Come around these apartments?"

The teen says she saw a man dropped off down the street and he started following her. He got closer and closer.

"She said by the time she got ready to turn around again, he just grabbed her," the mother said.

The teen fought off her attacker and ran. She got away.

"She said he had big muscles, he's strong and he's tall," said the mother.

That's vague, but a similar description to the man police believe raped the 19-year-old.

In the second incident, the teen is sure the man who grabbed her had facial hair. We asked investigators if the alleged rapist also had facial hair. Police couldn't say.

The mother is relieved her daughter's okay, but she's terrified another teen will be attacked. Police say they're close to making an arrest.
