'Kitten yoga' instructor aims for fit humans and felines
CUTENESS OVERLOAD: When kittens and humans collide in a yoga class, you can't help but smile.

OSKHOSH, Wisconsin -- You might have heard of "goat yoga," but have you ever considered exercising with your cat?

The Humane Society in Oshkosh, Wisconsin is offering classes fit for you and your feline.

They call it "kitten yoga," and instructor Gloria Simon-Kuzma says it's been a real crowd pleaser.

"I've been teaching yoga for 15 years and I've been working here at the shelter for about six months now, and just thought, 'Wouldn't this be crazy and fun to do something like this?'" Simon-Kuzma said.

Get your down dog on at El Gato Coffeehouse in The Heights

Forget down dog -- you can do cat yoga at a coffee house in the Heights.

With kittens hopping along from mat to mat, some of the yogis call the event a good distraction.

"I definitely paid more attention to the cats, but I would do it again for sure," yoga participant Ali Zerbe said "It was so much fun, and they were crawling all over everybody. It was just fun playing with them, and having them go underneath you when you were doing bridges and stuff."

The classes are not only good for your health, it is also improving the quality of life for the kittens and other animals at the Humane Society.

"It's a good incentive to get people here. Seeing all the kittens and cats that just need homes, so I would definitely take one home if I could," said participant Kayla Jenkins.

Organizers hope to offer another class in the near future.
