Wedding DJ charged with stealing from bride and groom

YUKON, Pennsylvania (KTRK) -- A Pennsylvania couple says they were robbed at their own wedding by the DJ.

The newlyweds said they noticed the crime when they came home with only 15 cards from their wedding of more than 100 guests.

The DJ, Edward McCarty, later confessed to police that he stole $600 from the bride and groom, but the number could be higher.

The couple is now having to call their guests to get an accurate account.

"People were telling me now that they had to give him our cards for a gift and he was putting them in the box," Ashley Karasek said.

The DJ told police he stole the money because of financial challenges.
