HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- After embarrassing the Rice Owls in a decisive Bayou Bucket Classic, the UH Cougars have one more non-conference test this weekend, hosting Texas Tech and Coach Kliff Kingsbury's air attack offense.

ABC13 will be home to this matchup today at 11 a.m.

The Cougars (2-0) are hanging their cap on a potent defense that has so far allowed just 3 and 16 points to open the season.

In fact, through just two games, the Cougars boast the 13th total defense in the nation entering this week's matchup at TDECU Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Red Raiders (2-0) are the offensive behemoth that could test the Cougars outright. Texas Tech is currently first in the nation in passing yards per game and top-5 in points per game.

The Red Raiders defeated Arizona State in a shootout last weekend, 52-45.

Texas Tech QB Nic Shimonek threw for six touchdowns in the game.

While the Cougars showed their offensive muscle against a woeful Rice Owls team last week, the team will need a repeat performance of their week-delayed season opener against Arizona, which included a fumble, an interception, a safety and six tackles for loss.
