Kingwood family looking for owner of boat in their pool

KINGWOOD, Texas (KTRK) -- As the water has receded, the clean-up needed in Kingwood is daunting. Drone video shows feet of water in the streets replaced by debris on the sidewalks in Kingwood.

Homeowner Patti Chapman said, "There are no real words. It's devastation. It's overwhelming Your whole life is turned upside down."

Chapman moved into the home on Cotswold Manor Drive just eight months ago. As they are trying to clean up, the challenges all around them are frustrating.

"The traffic has been a nightmare. We don't know when anyone is going to pick up the trash and my yard is full. At some point somebody is going to have to step in and do something about it," said Chapman.

In this neighborhood, volunteers from Second Baptist North Campus are trying to help fill some of the gaps.

Volunteer Brian Adams said, "We're just out here hoping to be a blessing -- at least a small blessing -- to the people here in Kingwood."

For the Chapmans, the volunteers were a lifesaver. As new residents they knew few people to turn to and their daughter and son-in-law are overwhelmed with their restaurant on the banks of the San Jacinto River where the water rose five feet inside.

"It has affected our family in an enormous way," said Chapman.

A spokesperson for the City of Houston says crews from San Antonio Waste Management are arriving today to help relieve some of the workload in Houston.

One Kingwood family is looking for the owner of a boat, with part of a dock attached, that appeared in their pool during Harvey.
