2 employees injured in kitchen explosion at west Houston restaurant

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Two restaurant employees were injured after an explosion in the kitchen, according to the Houston Fire Department.

Crews responded to the El Rancho restaurant on the Katy Freeway Friday afternoon. Officials said both victims have burns from the explosion, with one person's more severe than the other's.

Both are Hispanic women, ages 40 and 45. They have been taken to an area hospital.

There was no structural damage to the building.
