To become president of the United States, a nominee must claim at least 270 of the 538 electoral votes. The default setting of the interactive map is the latest ABC News projections, which show Hillary Clinton already with 272 electoral votes, even without the toss-up states of Florida, Ohio, and North Carolina.



To change the outcome, simply click on the state to switch which nominee will get the electoral votes.
