LIBERTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Authorities in Liberty County say they've arrested two teens who were looting vacated homes in flood-ravaged neighborhoods.

On Saturday afternoon, a detective stopped a car traveling down County Road 3402 for a traffic violation. According to the Liberty County Sheriff's Office, a 15-year-old passenger in the vehicle admitted that several watches, iPads and a Taser found in his backpack had been stolen from homes vacated by flood victims.

Detectives say the teen named another 15-year-old as an accomplice in the looting scheme, and warrants were issued for their arrests.

Because they are underage, the teens have not been identified by name. Investigators said they are both from the Cleveland area.

It's not clear where the alleged looting occurred.

Seth Gangler, the 18-year-old driver of the car, was arrested on marijuana possession charges and booked into Liberty County jail. Investigators said it did not appear that Gangler was involved in the alleged looting.
