World gets on board with Houston woman's display of gratitude
Social media is rallying around a local woman's display of gratitude.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Most people don't have the support of tens of thousands of strangers as they push through a difficult point in their life, but the internet is rallying around one local woman who beat the odds.

Ariette Whitehurst took to Facebook earlier this week to express gratitude that she was able to stay on her feet through a difficult eight-month period of unemployment.

"My first day back working. Nobody but God. Eight months without a job. No eviction notice, and no utilities turned off. All my household needs met. I did not have to go outside of the will of God. Lord God I just want [to] thank you," Whitehurst wrote.

In an accompanying video, a visibly emotional Whitehurst drives her gratitude home.

"Thank you, Lord," she said as tears streamed down her face.

In three days, Whitehurst's post has racked up nearly 50,000 likes and more than 21,000 shares on Facebook.
