Police investigate discovery of dead body in Texas City

TEXAS CITY, TX (KTRK) -- Texas City police are investigating the discovery of a dead body near a shopping center this morning.

Officers were called to 9300 Emmett F. Lowry Expressway where the body was found. Police confirm the dead person is an elderly Hispanic woman. They're working to identify her and notify family members.

There are no indications of foul play at this time.
