Family escapes as fire erupts inside SE Houston home

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Arson investigators are working to determine what caused a house fire in southeast Houston overnight.

The fire quickly spread throughout the home on Sage Meadow Lane around 8pm.

A family of four was at home at the time of the fire.

The mother was downstairs and smelled smoke; the family fortunately made it out safely.

Firefighter arrived and battled to get the flames under control.

The house was badly damaged, but no one was injured.
