Houston flights cancelled due to winter storms
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The weather in Houston caused delays at both airports, that's on top of hundreds of flight cancellations due to a winter storm over the weekend.
The FAA said that there was a two and a half hour delay on arrivals due to high winds in Houston, affecting arrivals.

Robert Cook flew in from Washington, D.C. on Sunday morning. He said the pilot told them they had to wait to land due to the winds in Houston.
"They said there were gusts from 15 to 20 miles per hour," said traveler Robert Cook.
Cook said the wind forced them to stay in the sky for an extra 30 minutes or so.
"Basically, you're flying in a big loop up in the air and just waiting to land," said Cook.
The delays follow hundreds of flight cancellations across the country due to the weekend's winter storm. Some flights headed from Houston to New York and Chicago were canceled due to the weather.

Other passengers traveling in from the northeast have seen delays and cancellations as well.
It comes during one of the busiest travel weeks of the year, with Christmas just a week away.
