Military dad returns home and surpises son as Santa

AQUIA HARBOR, VA (KTRK) -- A marine in Virginia came home early from deployment and surprised his 6-year-old son at school.

With over a week left before Christmas, a class full of first graders in Virginia got a surprise visit from Santa Claus.

Santa read to them, but the presents didn't end there, especially for 6-year-old Jackson.

"I want an Xbox One for Christmas," Jackson said.

"I also want my dad," Jackson added.

His father, a Marine Staff Sgt. David Rescott, was deployed to Kuwait back on Easter Sunday, and scheduled back after Christmas on Jan. 8.

"I think I have a bit of Christmas magic for you," Santa told Jackson.

Piece by piece, he removed his costume and then at that moment, the greatest wish came true.

His mother has been planning the surprise since October. It's a reveal they will never forget.

As a family, Jackson says they'll now get to celebrate Christmas as a family.
