Mayor Turner and new HPD chief Art Acevedo discuss details of major Kush bust

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Mayor Sylvester Turner and the new Houston Police Department Chief Art Acevedo are discussing a major Kush bust.

Photos of hundreds of bags of Kush that were seized by local authorities last night were on display at the press conference.

Mayor Turner cited a drop in emergency response calls since the initiative to combat Kush in Houston was announced in June.

Acevedo said it was "a great sense of honor" to report on the ongoing investigation into the seizure of these drugs, as well as the effort to target these criminals and their distribution networks.

"We will continue to focus on the worst of the worst and we will bring results," Acevedo said.
