WESTMINSTER, MD (KTRK) -- One mom is living proof that you can't let the haters get you down. Brittany Michelle Hines was on her way to a Planet Fitness in Westminster, Md., when she stopped at a Wawa gas station and a group of men made several rude comments about her body and even called her a "hog."

The 26-year-old responded to their body shaming by sharing a photo of herself on Facebook at the gym along with a copy of her recent blood work to prove that she is perfectly healthy.

She captioned the photo with this message:

"To the grown a** group of men outside of the Westminster Wawa. Your laughter and rude comments didn't stop me from busting my a** at the gym today. Yeah I know I'm not looking my usual sassy self while pumping my gas, please excuse my lack of makeup and my ratty old clothes. I did not leave the house to impress you today. I went to impress myself and to make my son proud of his mom.

This "hog" as you so graciously deemed me has been on a journey to better herself. My doctor was blown away by my blood work. My total cholesterol was 118 which is well below the 200 limit for normal. I don't have diabetes or high blood pressure either. How many of you can say the same? Especially those of you who are clinically obese?

This "fat ass" almost gave up today. After being ridiculed I sat in my car in the parking lot and cried. I wanted nothing more than to go home binge watch "River Monsters". But I didn't. I gave you all a big f*** you and busted my fat ass. Over a hour, of sweating and huffing but I did it.

Now please excuse my big fat a** as I go home to my loving son who probably wants me to throw him around for another hour."

The young mother, whose son is a 16-month-old named Maxwell, just started a new gym routine - following months of working out at home when the incident happened, but she would not let it stop her from reaching her goals.

Hines said she wants to get healthy in order to keep up with her son and feel her best on her wedding day.

Many people who read about Brittany's experience were empowered by her attitude, and took to the comments section to praise her for continuing her workout and sharing such a powerful message.

"I've had that same thing happen to me, so you are not alone," wrote Alex Berman. "Good job on showing them you would not give up and let them win!"

"People are so cruel when we don't fit into their idea of what we should be," wrote Allison Renee. "I am so proud that you still went to the gym."

"There is way too much hate in this world. I am sure that the mean comments came from people who have insecurities themselves," wrote Linda Ellison. "WTG for sticking with your goals. You can do it! Ignore the haters and feel the love from those who really care."

Brittany also shared her photos and powerful message on Imgur on Monday, and the post has been viewed more than 200,000 times.

"The feedback is astonishing, I never expected this," said Hines.
