One firefighter was taken to the hospital for cramps and dehydration. No other firefighters or residents were hurt.
An entire apartment building at Westchase Apartments caught fire. Twenty-four residents were damaged.
Many residents arrived home to see the fire, including Jessica Winke. She was in a panic looking for her dog, Suzaku.
Firefighters looked through her apartment and found the little pup.
"We went to look for a fire in the attic and where the insulation fell out he buried in himself in that," said one of the fire captains on scene.
Firefighters worked to resuscitate him. After several minutes of help from firefighters, Suzaku was okay.
"This is my baby this is my world," said Jessica, overcome with joy.
Meanwhile, firefighters continued looking for her cat and found the cat soon after.
The Red Cross is assisting displaced residents. The apartment is putting some of the residents in vacant apartments and the other residents will stay in hotels funded by the Red Cross.
